Please Note: As with the real Aotake, this product is a translucent blue-green coating. The real Aotake was applied over bare metal as a protective phenolic resin lacquer. Colourcoats ACJ15 should be applied over an aluminium undercoat, such as C05.

Typical practise in Japanese aircraft manufacture appears to have been to apply a protective coat of this primer upon completion of parts, with subsequent coats upon completion of sub-assemblies. Thus, there were not only variances between precise batch colours but also variances in how the final aircraft interior looked as everything ultimately received different numbers of coats of a translucent primer! It would not have a uniform appearance inside any given aircraft, so it is quite ok to experiment with different effects on your model. You can even tint your Aotake with a drop of green or blue to expand the effects throughout the model - not too much though or the coating will become too opaque.
